Gao Fenglin, a senior technician, has spent more than
40 years researching
NOTES
and developing welding
techniques for rocket
engine projects. He has
been working in this job
since graduating from a
technical school.
His supervisor once said, “If you want to be a good
worker, there are four steps to follow: perform well, know
why, explain the procedure and summarise clearly.”
He is so crazy about his welding work that he is called
the person making the “heart” for the rocket. No matter
what difficulties he meets, he manages to overcome them.
He believes that the craftsman’s
spirit should include five qualities:
the first is to love and be selfless,
the second is to continue focusing
and creating, the third is to try to
do everything well, the fourth is to
share experience with the young
workers, and the fifth is to never forget the starting point
and keep going forward.
