Hot Drinks and Cold Drinks

I’ve been in China for a very long time. In
the beginning, I didn’t understand why people

here love hot water so much.

My students are as curious about why I drink
cold water in winter as I am about why Chinese

drink hot water in summer.
Chinese people love hot water. Even when it’s

very hot in summer and I’m all sweaty, they are still

drinking hot water.
Later, I came to know that

in China people can have hot water at any time of

the year. That’s because they are used to it.
