Dialogue 1
(Patient A has a toothache. He is in the hospital.)

Dentist: Good morning. What seems to be the problem? NOTES

Patient: I’ve had a toothache for two days.
Dentist: Open your mouth and let me check.

(Moments later...)
Patient: Is it serious?

Dentist: No. It will be OK. I’ll give you some pain-killers.

You shouldn’t eat too much
sweet food and remember

to brush your teeth at least
twice a day.

Patient: Thank you, doctor.

Dialogue 2

(Patient B has a cold. She is in the school clinic.)

Patient: Good morning, doctor! I think I have a bad
cold. I have a headache. NOTES

Doctor: How long have you been feeling this way?

Patient: For two days, and I’ve been
coughing a lot.

Doctor: Let me check your temperature.
(Several minutes later...)

Doctor: Oh, you’ve got a fever. Take this

medicine three times a day, and
have a good rest.

Patient: I see. Thank you, doctor.
